We’re here to help you navigate the decision-making process and understand the changes to our benefit offerings for 2026. Here’s everything you need to know to make informed choices for you and your family.

What you need to know for 2026

There are some significant changes for open enrollment this year. Through it all, we’re committed to helping you understand your benefits, manage costs, and be your healthiest.

HMO closed to
new enrollees

If you aren’t currently enrolled in the HMO plan for 2025, you won’t be able to choose it for 2026. Those who are enrolled in the HMO already may continue to use it or change their coverage.

Cost increases
to both plans

This includes premiums and cost sharing for both plans, and the deductible for the PPO plan. However, we’ve added more salary bands to our plan designs to help spread rising costs more equitably.

Health financial account changes

The health savings account (HSA) that is paired with the PPO plan will now be funded by Blue Cross twice per year: half of the total contribution amount in January and the rest in July.

Benefit overview

    Medical

    This year, you can choose to enroll in the Blue Care Elect Saver (PPO) plan. Only those already enrolled in the Network Blue® New England (HMO) have the option to elect that plan. 

    Here are some other things to keep in mind:

    • There are now four salary-based1 cost bands: under $80,000; $80,000 to $139,999; $140,000 and above; and executive management team.
    • There are now four coverage tiers: individual, individual + adult, individual + child/ children, and family.

    Dental Blue®

    Your dental coverage isn’t changing. Enjoy the same great benefits, including:

    • Access to over 93% of practicing dentists in Massachusetts, as well as more than 520,000 provider locations nationwide.
    • Complete coverage for kids under the age of 13, with no cost and no deductible for covered dental services up to the calendar-year benefit maximum. Costs and deductible apply for orthodontic services.
    • Orthodontic services are fully covered for adults and kids up to the $1,500 lifetime maximum.

    Blue 20/20 PLUS

    Stay on top of your eye health with the same great vision benefits, featuring a $0 copay for eye exams, savings on glasses, contacts, and more — plus enhanced coverage for kids under 19.

    Health Financial Accounts

    Both medical plans come with a Blue Cross-funded account. You also have the option to elect self-funded flexible saving accounts (FSAs). Here are some important things to know:

    • The PPO’s HSA will now be funded by Blue Cross twice a year: half in January and the rest in July. Contribution amounts will increase from last year for associates with an annualized base salary under $80,000 and will remain the same for all other associates.
    • The HMO’s health reimbursement arrangement (HRA) contributions will remain the same for 2026.
    • The contribution limit for the dependent care FSA is increasing from $5,000 to $7,500.
    • If you elect a health care or limited purpose FSA for 2026, any unused funds up to $660 will roll over from your 2025 balance. Note that the dependent care FSA isn’t eligible for the rollover.
